Most animes in general are very predictable <<
Which is why I stick to the weird shit like Paranoia Agent.

I really like it plus Chi is just so pretty and cute.
Agreed, I didn't say that I didn't like it, I've grown fond of it actually.

Was it something I said? Whatever it was, I didn't mean it. I haven't meant anything I've said for years. Except what I just said. I think

I haven't seen Chobits or read the manga, but I'm well aware of what the basic idea is, and the certain problem is...

which is why I ask, why can't one just transfer her memory to an external hard drive or the like, then go do the deed, and import it back? Perhaps I should see the series in order to answer this question, but that's just an idea I thought up

Because her memory is different than a normal persocoms. She's almost human, so she has "feelings" and "emotions" that she's learned that probably wouldn't fit on any hard drive. This is just my idea though.

The manga explains it better than the anime. The bottom line here is that she must be loved for what she is, regardless of what she can or cannot do. The case of the switch was done on purpose by her creator as the ultimate test. Quite a noble message if I may say so...

Yep, skimmed the important parts in my Chobits manga and Diclonius is dead on. They wanted her to be loved for her and nothing else. The creepy book is probably the only thing in the anime that explains it thoroughly.

Well, I don't consider the manga creepy at all; I love the artwork and the story!

But the ending in the anime is the same as in the manga. I've never watched the entire anime, but I have read all of the manga, and was told that the endings were the same. Works by CLAMP in general seems to be predictable.

Actually, I meant the book that Chii reads. The one about her and Hideki.

Ah, gomen! That book is indeed a little bizarre, you just have to look deeper into it to understand the message...
