I've only ever bought 1...Urotsukidoji (or something). That was years and years ago on VHS!
I had no idea what it was and i picked it at complete random.

I'm assuming that was a very bad example? Haha.

It was more than a little...odd. Plus i wasn't wanting to see demons raping people etc, it soon went in the bin. So i'd avoid anything like that really. I've never understood Hentai either, weird.

Maybe i'll have to be reocommended some to start with.

Nothing animated will ever beat 80s Transformers though for me.

A few things that tend to "scare me off" from liking a series:

- Lack of humor. If a series is serious, that's fine as long as it has other good points. But I like something that gives me a smile or a laugh once in a while.

- Depressing turns of events. If a series consists of one tragedy after another, there's a fair chance I'll throw my hands up in disgust and give up on it. As I said, I like something I can laugh at, not something that'll just make me blue by watching it.

- Excessive blood and gore. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind blood per sé, but when a series looks like a single excuse to paint your screen red, I find it hard to take seriously.

I can't really think of any more at the moment.

I shy away from:
1. Yuri (Hello!! I'm a girl here. Give me some Yaoi anyday!! ).
2. Mecha (I can't stand that crap!!)
3. Magical girl (Seriously, WTF?!)
4. Sports (I'll watch tv for that thanks.)
5. Crazy S**T (Like boboboblahblahblah).

And other things l don't have the name to.

I tried reading a hentai/yaoi/yuri/lolicon/shotacon manga once... I didn't like it at all. I just avoid really boyish shounen manga or anime, mecha, over done vampires, magical girl things, just overdone things with melodramatic plotlines. But lol, as if you can tell that by just looking at the front cover

I personally avoid the horror genre, and the sub genre of "Anything with vampires". I'm seriously tired of vampires right now.

I watch all kinds of anime...can't really think of a genre that I don't watch...except for the really freaky deaky stuff...

I'm ok all the way from pure (immature) action like bleach/naruto to pure blood and guts like Kite or Gantz to pure mushy mushy romance like Clannad to mecha like Code Geass to w/e really. There's actually not many anime I DON'T like...well I don't really like Yuri. That I guess would be one genre I don't watch/read...altho Prince 1/2 is pretty close and I DO read that lol.

I try to avoid the harem series, they kinda repeat itself for several years now. It's not fun to watch and I find it boring and bland.

I noticed I can't get anything that's too historical I give them a try but I think I'll stay away from them.
