When do you think people die?

When they are shot through the heart by the bullet of a pistol?
No.

When they are ravaged by an incurable disease?
No.

When they drink a soup made from a poisonous mushroom?
No!

It's when... they are forgotten.

There are always loads of fab new and classic series out there to buy and collect all of the time from so many different bookstores across the world that you would never run out of manga to read ever, nor not ever be able to afford to either as they're all pretty well and reasonably priced

I don`t think it is a matter of "how much" but more a matter of "how much TIME spent".
Someone can have a literally incredible number of manga, and have read countless volumes... But not have spent that much time out of their life on it. I don`t even dare try count how many manga (単行本, to be specific) I have in my house. I`d estimate somewhere over 1000 if I include the "retired" ones that are packed away in cases in the closet. If there is a series I think looks interesting, I usually buy the first 2 volumes as a test, then buy the rest in one bundle. There are a few artists we follow, and buy their stuff without having read any of it... And a number of series we buy everytime they come out.

However, in terms of time actually spent on manga... It`s not all that high at all. It`s certainly nowhere near the focus of my life. Just an enjoyable media.

I do get a kick out of getting my husband to act out bits. He went to a voice acting academy, and is good.

If anyone is trying to find me… Tamyuun on Instagram is probably the easiest.

Well, I think you should only read to the point that it's not taking over your life. Trust me, a friend of mind turned into a complete manga addict. She kept telling me that she saw manga and anime characters everywhere and-Wait! I think I see Iwaki-san! (runs over) xD

The answer to your question - 10-07-2008, 02:52 PM

You have read to much manga if you come home exhausted after work and without thinking utter: "Crap! Im out of chakra!"

You are also using too much time on manga if you stay up reading til 4.30AM several days in a row. Wait... that means that i need to read less manga... oops, i take it back!

But seriously, i think if you loose focus on the things that matter its a good time to cut down on the manga reading. So what is loosing focus?

I guess that depends on the person in question. If you have a family and you forget to make dinner, take your woman/man on regular dates. As a Christian if you stop reading the bible and stop praying. As an employee if you come late to work because you were reading manga on the buss and missed your stop , or get caught reading manga/watching anime at work, lol!

But this goes not only for manga/anime but for everything, a good frieds of me usually says "too much of anything is bad"

Peace

You can never, and mean NEVER get enough manga in my case. Cuz I like Pokemon. And Detective Conan. And they STILL DON'T HAVE AN ENDING YET. So I need to read. And watch. And read and watch and read and watch and read and watch and read and watch and...

Wait, I feel dizzy.

There can never be such a thing as too much manga.....that's like saying there's a limit to how much you can breath. >.>
