This is your brain . . . this is your brain on Anime - 09-22-2008, 08:37 PM

Have you ever considered how your mind perceives the world around you and the way it processes information?

I had one of those WTF moments today as I was watching 'EF - A Tale of Memories'; while I was intently reading the subs, I found that my mind was hearing them spoken by the voice of the characters, explicitly. It was a surreal experience, the written words and the voice were in complete sync and matched the actual voices speaking in Japanese.

I'm curious to hear if anyone has experienced the same sensation?

Maybe I'm watching to much anime.

Well like when you watch an anime in subtitles, but your head is translating them, so you hear the English in your head of the characters?

Mhm, that's happened to me quite a few times.

My first experience with that was when I watched Final Fantasy VII.

yeah, well at first I would get confused after I'd seen the anime or japanese horror movie, cuz at the end of it I think, "wait did I put it as japanese w/ english subs or plain english?" but now I'm used to it
