You can learn a little Japanese and a little about school culture, for example, but it is best to double-check. Some things are limited just to that anime or manga, and may not be universal.

I have learned a lot of ways to kill people. Which anime, you ask? Detective Conan. DUH.

But really, I learned that you should kill someone in Japan someday, just to be arrested by Shinichi Kudo.

OMG, is that Conan with a Pikachu on the street?!?!?! *rushes to see*

Oops.

It's a boy with glasses with his pet hamster.

*shakes head and sighs*

Myself, I've learned from watching far too much anime just how valuable it is to be a good cook. And how anime has given me an appreciation of tea.

Fortunately, there is one woman in this world who can control me.

Unfortunately for you, she is not here.

I really don't know. Anime only taught me that you can have a frying pan anytime if you want to hit a pervert guy in the face.

You can learn whatever the author is trying to relay.

Also alot of random facts can be found in anime, such as in Air Gear recently.
Fact: If Barack Obama were to have his body switched with a teen Japanese girl and stay in her body too long it would "Grow a mushroom".

Obviously good stuff their!

On a more serious note Manga is the same as any literatue if you actually look at the context of manga they are more along the lines of books than comics in the way most are written. ( Hence Graphic Novels )

If you take even a step forward...
I have a feeling something will change,
and...
Something good will happen"

even if it is to their own advantage.
