Reading one of the posts on the first page, does that mean that people agree that they should let 10 year olds get hold of every single anime, including those that are hentai?

Of course it doesn't include hentai! >_< Anime isn't about hentai. Anime can be really profound, that's one reason why watching them would help your child's growth tremendously

I didn't say that. I said, "those anime series that are hentai". I never generalized anime as hentai (especially Totoro. I don't see how anybody can see hentai in that.).

I can only relate to your..anger..slightly only in that the old "baby boomers" would look at my "cartoons" as childish... Manga and Anime are pretty popular in CA. Must be your location =X We've got Anime stores that sell nifty subs that were not subbed in the USA...although I'm a lil mad at my local store cuz he sold my Totoro backpack to someone else...and hasn't replaced his stock with a new one ~.~ Even Barnes and Nobles has an entire section dedicated to the manga, and Best Buy with 2 huge anime rows! =D

For the most part Animes a hit in Southern Cali =D Mostly its the trendy stuff on Cartoon Networks adult swim~ but that's a start =) And last time I was in Mexico, that was all there was to watch in the morning...

But.. enough anime... What about Hana Yori Dango and all the j-dramas? I've got a lot of friends who've watched that series~ Let's thank all those sweeties on Dailymotion - Share Your Videos for uploading the series as it aired in Japan. <3

What this has to do with anime/manga, I have no idea.

Seiryuu: Yeah, but you said "including" so I replied that "it doesn't include hentai". I never claimed you generalize hentai, I was just adding in my own comments to emphasis my answer.

jasonbvr: Yes, yes, I was merely exaggerating and I apologize for it However, it has to be at least ranked the 10th most powerful country, right? Please correct me if I'm wrong ^_^

I'll tell you what it has to do with anime/manga. It's could be an essential factor to attract people towards not only anime/manga,but the whole of the Japanese culture altogether.

NO!!!!!! I would never allow my children access to anything inappropriate for their age. But Anime can and has taught them some pretty important life lessons. There are shows that I don't let them watch because of mature themes for example Basilisk. It is not age appropriate for them. Children should have access to different sorts of media but ultimatly their parents will judge what is age appropriate for them.

Hmmm good question. I havn't seen it yet (hangs head in shame) I usually check stuff out first. But Scott has read the first chapter of it and said he liked it. The manga is rated T so usually he's ok with that but Max is way to little for it, He really enjoys Naruto and even that scares him sometimes. I don't know what do you think is a good age for Death Note?
