Ok, youtube has recently taken up a rather unreasonable policy of deleting anime vids for some reason. Is this an act of anime discrimination? Are they being biased against anime? Have they any justificable reason at all??

I don't know about you guys.. but me feels like smashing their heads now... =/

Probably has more to do with copyright infringement and less to do with anime per se, if you ask me. I also read an article a few days ago saying that sites like youtube, vidilife etc are putting enormous strain on the internet, to the point that some authorities have suggested taking them down permanently. That would obviously mean the end of free episode access for many anime fans. Hopefully this suggestion will never be effectuated.

Hmmm then wouldn't putting up a disclaimer for every vid just solve the problem? ><

Disclaimers might solve some of the problem, however I suspect the real issue is that the majority of people who post anime vids on the net don't actually have the legal right to make the vids publicly accessible.

Anime is supposed to be a profit for the makers. They want you to buy the thing.

Having it publicly accessed decreases that profit.

I once heard Youtube sold its rights to Google or something.

Don't feel bad about watching anime on the net, CN-kun. In my opinion the authorities need to consider why it is that so many people choose to watch anime on the internet rather than on television. They can't just forbid sites like youtube to host fan-subbed anime eps (ok, so they prolly can, but that's not my point ); if they really want to solve the problem they need to think about how they can make "tv-based" anime more attractive to viewers.

That might be a little hard... Taking into consideration that the net has free, almost unlimited, and always available anime-only series that you can watch for hours... O_O

lol, hello, ototo-chan! *ruffles hair affectionately*

You have a very good point there. The only way in which tv can really compete with online anime is to become cheaper and to increase the range of anime shows that are broadcast. Forbidding one thing in favor of the other is just stupid.
