Eventually people will understand that anime aren't just stupid cartoons for little children.

O_O Well, that depends on your reasons... Why don't you like watching anime then?

lol I never come to this thread, but I do for the first time ever and I find an argument. If you guyz can't post something without insulting someone, then the thread will be sealed.

Not every person likes anime, let them be, don't shove it down their throat. People can't like everything. This forum is about ALL of Japan. And it is very possible and understandable for people to like Japanese culture, but not the animation.

So be nice, and answer a question civially...

I agree with Kanji-kun. Don't worry, I'll try my best to control the messages conveyed and words said here ^^

Ok, I see that there was some kind of missunderstanding. I didn't want to insult anyone. My parents think that anime are just like normal cartoons for children but that is not true, cause it's for everyone, and from my point of view, I hope that my parents will understand it one day.

Man, they did that at my school! My friend had brought her porable DVD player, and we we're watching Fullmetal Alchemist, and from the back of the class, this buttmunch says " They're waching some cartoons!!!", I was almost ready to kick his ass and tell him that anime ain't some damn cartoon, there is a BIG difference. Because in anime, there is emotion and feeling, while in cartoons there is mostly slapstick comedy and other things, I watch cartoons too, but dammit, maybe I wanna watch an animated show that has an actual plot, and focusses on something we go through in real life ( not every anime is like that, but yeah)!!!

I guess for me it is also easier to connect with characters that are played by a real person, as in I can feel their emotions better. The anime series that I liked a whole lot were Cowboy Bebob, Samurai Champloo, and DBZ, I think with show like this I was able to connect with the characters better than other anime series.
Ok ive been away for awhile on this thread and I agree with Kanji this is a little crazy. Every respect everyone elses opinion. It may not be your own but give it thought at least. Try to identify with that persons feeling sor just leave it be. Too many misunderstandings come from one persons toes being stepped on and the other wanting to kick his ass over it. Be kind and civil to one another people... it doesnt help your argument to freak out... Try to explain yourself like ensoninoue has in the quote a\bove. Let some statements go. I know there are some touchy subjects on this Forum but if we respect each other and dont get so trigger happy with the emotions we may actually learn something. Its just like sparring the point of sparring isnt war it isnt to destroy somone else... you go in giving what you know and come out with something new a new perspective ... try to learn something about the other point of view you may not have known before... it will get you allot further than insulting them. Im guilty too btw .... just my 2cents.
