Lol, I'd definitely give those guys an "F" for research. Whilst we enjoy manga/anime, we should also bear in mind that Japan consists of other aspects as well, insted of being so naive. Take their culture for instance. However, that does not mean we should discriminate against anime & manga. They have their purpose for existing, just like us. Furthermore, for many of us, it was anime which helped us to take our baby steps into the Japanese culture, the first leap onto the ladder of loving Japan, and everything it stands for.

well said cooly......well said....
Anime is like the booster rockets on the space shuttles....they blast us off on ur journey of discovery, and allow us to see the clear picture of a more beautifull world.......except....the anime doesn't get left behind like the rockets.....

Yeah. I think a lot of people, like me, begin to grow passionate about Japan because of anime. It's my dream, after i graduate high school, to visit Japan and learn their culture. Lots of anime reflects Japanese culture.

I get very incensed when ignorant people just think all anime is for kids. I think its mostly because the only anime they have ever watched would be Pokemon, Dragon Ball Z or Yu-Gi-Oh. (I'm not saying they're bad anime though, just that people tend to base their views on those three animes.) I think it's also because they can't see past the story lines of those anime and actually understand the message that's trying to be sent across.
Like, I know a lot of people who go, oh yeah Dragon Ball Z was awesome when we were like, 10. How can you watch anime when your older now? blah blahh~

Yes, I am. Anime's helped many people to actually recognize that their existence.
