It only bothers me if they refer to all anime/manga as kid stuff. Some anime/manga IS for kids, but adults are welcome to read it. However, some anime and manga is very inapproriate for children and geared towards older teens and adults. For that reason alone, I sincerely hope that it is not adults referring to anime/manga as stuff for kids.

Reminds me of the time my chiropracter told me his gf's 10 year old song watched Death Note...
Most adults of today do this anime is for kids because it looks and appears the same as cartoons, and therefore, they find their kids watching it. Now, my chiropracter probably thinks Death Note is a kids show because this boy was watching it, but will never know how wrong he is... ...of course, neither will the boy. He probably watches it only because it LOOKS like a Saturday morning cartoon (also reminds me of young Avatar fans. They block out the emotional stress and plot twists and turns, and see only comedy and humor) |

Here's something for those playing the home game:
Anime:cartoons::manga:comics. A roomate of mine is a diehard fan of the shows on the Disney channel, intended for young kids. I think it's rather childish, but at the same time, I watch anime. There are some anime series out there intended for adults (Deathnote), while others are specifically intended for a younger audience. But besides all that, who really cares what other people think of your hobbies? How in the world do people reach 1,000+ posts? Skadoosh.

Not really. I don't care what other people think. It does rather get annoying......but afterwards I have a reason to imagine punching someone in the face.....

i think its funny one of my friends rags on me for being into anime and mangas yet he'll read DC Comics....
but I honestly don't care. A lot of the people that rag on you are probably in the closet fans anyway just scared to say something... murrrrrrrrr "If Life and Death be things that seem,
If Death be sleep, and Life a dream, May not the everlasting sleep The dream of Life eternal keep?" ~Father Tabb |

What really angers me is the fact that mom says it's all the same and that it's crepy and it's going to brainwash me. But, if someone thinks it's baby stuff then they obviously don't look at the ratings. I hardly ever find any that aren't at least 13+. Oh, yeah, I'd definitely let a three year old read Naruto. No! I'm not even letting the child who has proclaied me her hero and role model know too much. I mean, most parents try and keep children from it. I don't think it's too much for maybe an 11 year old (I was eleven when I started reading it) but baby/kid stuff? No. I'm just using Naruto as an example because it's my favorite. Wow...I didn't expect to rant that much. Whatever. I have pretty strong opinions.
Ten times more amazing than you! |
