I haven't really seen much of a down-aging trend either or like... massive discrepancies between appearance and reported age. I mean, I don't really know much anime and I don't seek it out personally, but I do frequently come across whatever is being watched by my housemates (4 against 1, we don't watch many nature documentaries to put it mildly) and in most of them the characters look quite age appropriate to me.

Eh, Lemme grab the hard-drive and see what they've actually been watching as I'm rubbish with names.

East of Eden
Persona Trinity Soul
Bartender
Winter Sonata (I remember the LA version of this being advertised everywhere when I was in Japan, I guess the anime is popular too?)
Nodame Cantabile (which must be damn popular if it has it's own donut named after it.)
Beck
Victorian Romance Emma
One Piece
and some beat-up DVD's that I think were Prince of Tennis.

So yeah, I haven't noticed anything, but that could just be that my housemates watch stuff that's aimed at older teens and adults. Well, One Piece is kinda a kids one isn't it? But I wouldn't say it's 'populated by 10 year olds'...

If you're not seeing it you're not very perceptive. That's what it boils down to.

You see what you want to see, buddy. Most people love to praise the old stuff. It happens with music, movies, games and also with anime.

I do apologize, but for me, it's difficult to see something that doesn't seem to be there. Seriously, do you have any examples to prove the claim or to help with your argument?

OK now i have read every post on this discussion and yes some anime have this childish look about them but i think it depends more on what people like to watch as for i love to watch childish anime sometimes Net Ghost PiPoPa is a good example really childish but hilarious to watch, i can also watch anime that is bishounen like Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge or Princess Princess i can also watch seinen which could be Paradise Kiss, Victorian Romance Emma and Junjou Romantica (yaoi) i could mention a lot more examples but i don't would have made much difference in your opinions

Are you nice to people they usually are nice back

The point (that's been repeated many times) is that in general it looks it. If one of the dissidents on this thread could have looked up what that means it'd been easier.

But a lot of people disagree with you, as you can see.

Thanks for stating the obvious. None of that means they are right, it means they're predictably knee-jerk weeabos. These are some of the same people who defended defacing videos with silly romaji lyrics so it gives the point of reference.
