I personally saw Death Note as more psycotic . . .or mind play only the setting gave ze dramatic feel half ze time.

Lol! That made me laugh, and true, deffinately dramatic

Anyways, I also agree Death Note was very dramatic as a whole. I wouldn't say it was 'psychotic' as 'Nyu' did, but rather very psychological. It certainly had me on the edge of my seat the whole time, I loved the mind games and the psychological tricks the characters played. The whole atmosphere of the show was quite dramatic, Naomi and L's deaths I think being the most so.
