Hm, couldn't that kind of apply to manga too? Some people read titles online, and then later on, went out and bought them because the scanlation places introduced them to said series to look into. Guess you could say it's "free advertising" in a way.

If you want to compare the numbers of how many times a single volume of manga is resold (I would guess five max) and how many downloads happen when posted online (they proudly showed numbers in the thousands) it is clear which is more damaging. The vast majority of the online readers on not then going out and buying the physical copies, though a small percentage would.

Posting an item for sale is free advertising. Giving the item away in its entirety for free is not.

That's good advice. But at the same time, why would I want or even bid on a used manga? I'd rather get a brand new one to call my own. Thanks though.

I miss this page.

There were many series that have not been published in Germany or not yet translated or published as far in Japan. The site was always up to date. Some Manga were here never finished and so I could read about how they ended.

If I like a manga (and he's published here), I have bought them later. It's still better than reading from the screen.

So I think it's a shame that the page no longer exist. I think in the end the manga industry shoot in their own foot. Here in Germany the manga/anime boom is already in decline. For example I buy no more series at random (it is just too much trash under them). The series that I have currently collecting I found on the Internet.

I support artist by buying their works. But I'm not ready to buy a pig in a sack. If I buy a picture in a gallery, I take a look for free before I buy it.
