Anime began at the start of the 20th century, when Japanese filmmakers experimented with the animation techniques also pioneered in France, Germany, the United States, and Russia. The oldest known anime in existence first screened in 1917 – a two-minute clip of a samurai trying to test a new sword on his target, only to suffer defeat. Early pioneers included Shimokawa Oten, Jun'ichi Kouchi, and Seitarō Kitayama.

Open to talk about Anime -

There's nothing wrong with liking anime, or being an anime fan. For a fact my friend is just like you and I don't make fun of her. No one does at least. But to be honest, there are these peeps called "weaboos" that are people that are OVERLY obsessive with anime. They learn japanese, uh, say that they're japanese, cosplay all the time in public, and quote anime in almost everything they say. Just make sure you aren't that close to anime. Otherwise, enjoy anime.
