It would only make sense if you are reading OEL manga.

Original English-language manga - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Megatokyo might be a good one.

あんまり漫画は読まないけれど、こっちのワンピースの 翻訳とか
普通だったし、月刊で(たしか)出てるジャンプの翻訳 も自然ですよ。

ファンサブとかは別として、ちゃんとした所から出てる 物なら
たいていは普通に自然だと思います。

First of all, there is not such thing as a "perfect translation". Translation isn't mathematics, it is an art. Give one sentence to ten different translators, and likely you will get ten different translations. All may be correct.

Translations for manga aren't written to be used as English language study tools, but are written to communicate the story in the space the balloons allow. For that reason sometimes complete sentences and perfect grammar take a back seat. That is why it is hard for me to recommend you use translated manga as an English language study tool.

ほんとう??ですか?

ワンピースとかはアメリカでアニメになっているくらい なので、まあ大丈夫かな?と思ったのですが、冒険物な ので、日常生活に使うものいいなあと思っています。
で、そうなるとどれが大丈夫でどれがお勧めかな?

日本のプロの翻訳家が翻訳したとしても、使いまわしが 普段いわないようなものだったりしたらいやだなと。

really?
In America One peace is broadcasting now so maybe okay.
But it's adventure story.. i need a kind of more connecting life (English)one.

Japanese professional translator ISN"T NATIVE english speaker.
i live in america now. And i really realize not native's translate doesn't use really real life English.

that's true.
I totally agree with you.

i just wanna make sure japanse manga which was translated in English's English is natural or not??

for example, i live in america, but i am not sure how i can use ''You Know''.

Manga contains conversation English.
so i thought that's better than gramar book.

I read English now. I hear English now. but i am not good at speaking.

So i am not gonna compare japanese one and american one.

Just i wanna know NUANCE in several scene in English.

日->英の翻訳というのは、大手なら通常は英語のnativeの 人がやるので、
たとえ翻訳として駄目であったとしても、英語としてお かしいという事は
あまり無いと思います。ワンピースの1巻から3巻まで とジャンプを
数冊読んだけれど、英語としておかしいなと思った事は 無かったです。
好きな物を読めば良いんじゃないでしょうか?

ファンサブ等の、素人がやっている物は別ですよ。

MM,
Yeah, translated mangas, or translated anything for that matter, probably aren't the ideal materials for learners, but I found translated Shonen Jump and One Peace were OK. They are definitely no Hemingway, but I don't think it matters to people who are just starting like mariko0721. What do you think about these translations?
