Wasn't Kira's face. L got flashbacks of his life. He saw them, those church bell thingies and stuff.

By the way, L saw the flashbacks in his head, but by right he was looking at Light. And there was an interval after he got the flashbacks in which he saw Light's face with his glowing red eyes and all before he finally closed his own eyes ^_^
