Therefore, yes it is your opinion. And like assholes, we all have them.
The manga came first, so that is the way the story is intended. If her likeness for clothes and dolls is justified in the anime as a result of her parents death, then that is just an explanation given in the anime and not part of the true story. Believe what you will...I know the truth.
And now you're calling Misa a "typical blonde girl". You're just digging your hole a little deeper, aren't you? Now you're stereotyping as well as assuming.
Ended..Finis...Game Over...Deleted....I'm done.
lol wow you're so amusing. Noone said that the death of her parents led to her likeness in clothes. It is an observation and the MANGA shows this for a reason. It shows it by showing the dolls in her collection and her dark warddrobe of weird clothing. It doesn't type it in words because it is meant for people who can understand what has happened to Misa and how she has grown into what she is. Any mature person with any life experience will recognise that.
Secondly, sorry you took the stereotypical thing personally.
Misa IS shown to be blonde in the Anime and she isnt the smartest character in the story. If you can't deal with that, don't blame me. Write up a petition against whoever wrote Deathnote. [insert cry here] In the meanwhile i'll go dig another hole for shits and giggles

ps. i'm not even gonna bother quoting people, to try and justify whether
"all people who wear black are mentally unstable" because I didn't say anything like that. Thanks for explaining how you think life works though, for goths and the like. I'll write it down for future reference.

Bottom line, Misa is unstable and if you don't think so, good for you lol. I can't be bothered to explain poor Misas emotional standing anymore.
The End.

Secondly he is 'god' in his OWN mind. He says this plenty of times, about how he would like to BE god of the new earth that he will create.
People like Misa, who have been wronged by the criminals that Light is out to kill, look up to Light because it is advantageous for them. He is god to them because of his supernatural ability to kill, nothing more. He gives them that revenge and sense of justice that noone else could, which to them is a godly act. Light is delusioned by his new power during the beginning of the anime and this false self confidence empowers other people to think of him as a supreme being. There are a lot of people who think he is changing the world for the better but that is only because their own thirst for some kindof justice has been served, through Light. The majority of these people are psychos who are out for their own gain and benefit, not anyone elses. Misa is one of these people who are mentally unstable. This can be seen in her dress sense and dolls etc, in her room, during when she is first introduced.Thirdly, Light can be killed easily and has survived a few times on just luck alone. Besides Ryuk wouldnt wanna kill Light until things got totally out of hand. He's entertainment afterall.

this might be where we "misjudged" your wording.

I meant that it can be "seen" that she is mentally unstable from that side effect. I didn't mean that all people who wore black were mentally unstable.
I'm not getting worked up from the debate but if someone starts patronizing me, then i'm sure gonna get cynical too. You didn't do that, so none of it is directed toward you.

I love this series, DEATH NOTE is one of my favourite manga. Good story and art, very entertaining!

I just finished the manga....I think last month. I got it early before it came out on the 3rd of July from VIZMEDIA. I'm glad the worker at Barnes'n Noble was nice enough to check in the back for it. He said they had it hidden in a box. I got it like a week before the 3rd.

Also I like how it ended, I think it ended well and fair. I'm happy with it. Though the anime's ending was abit not too great to me. It was more peaceful then what I think was deserved....but atleast I got to view points on how everything could end.

About the movies, I've seen the first. I thought it was pretty good, nothing special, but good. I just feel like they kinda dumbed it down abit more then the manga, because the manga is very complexed sometimes. One thing about the movie, before it came out, when I heard there was gonna be an original character, I wasn't to happy about it. But the part the character played was likable, so I was satisfied.

I love the actor Tatsuya Fujiwara, so seeing him in it was great. L's actor Ken'ichi Matsuyama played L good enough aswell! I really want to see the second movie. Also the L spinoff that's coming out.

QueenNanami-Thanks for the welcome!

I hear that VIZMEDIA is gonna release "DEATH NOTE volume 13 How to Read". Since I was planning on buying the Japanese because I thought it was gonna be available in English...but now I don't have to. But I remember reading it's gonna be out in '08.

So who else is gonna get it? Probably most of us, since we all love the series. Anyone got the Japanese one? I still wanna get it, well the other one with Near's finger puppets and the box holder thing. It's 40-50$ at the Kinokuniya I go to. It might not be there anymore though, though I always see it in the display mirror. I still want the DEATH BOX too, which they have aswell. It's like 300...I think from the last time I asked. Anyone have that?

Hmmmm...let me see if I can prove a point. What's this next post???

I actually have more life experience in this matter than you realize, my friend. You saying that she is the way she is today is merely your opinion. It is never stated or said in the manga, therefore it is your observation which leads you to comment in this way. Not fact. Maybe you're a secret DN writer and we just didn't know about it! LOL!

I didn't take offense personally, thank you. I'm a brunette. I feel people who generalize and stereotype are offensive. Not my fault you sterotype either. You said it, once again. Not me. I was merely commenting on your statement!

Well I thought you'd need that info, so i'm glad to be of service! It's the least I could do.

You don't have to explain any further, dear. You've explained your OPINION sufficently!

i really enjoyed the movies!
the second one is a bit different...
but i think you have to go into a movie like that, pretending you don't know anything about it...
otherwise you are doomed to be dissappointed lol.
Ken'ichi Matsuyama was the perfect choice for L, i thought.
he was oh-so-lovable xD
the second movie is good but the ending is very erhm...well you have to see it lol
i have a link for the movies if you guys haven't seen them/want to watch them again!!!

this is the first one

this is the second one

I think it was her beauty and charm. Like Light she had that charm they made you wanna believe everything, people fall for a pair a pretty eyes. I don't understand why rem loved her.. I mean that was crazy. I liked Rem.. (more then ryuk) i loved how it seemed like Rem was misa's mother. The touching thing is like a mother Rem would take her own life to protect her. That's love

I have to say i agree with you completely! this is what i was trying to really say but just didn't want to turn death note thread into a terrible fight

I take offence to the blonde thing said... I'm blonde.. and i feel that that's stereotyping..

Agreed Kanji/L! If people didn't notice misa had a very upbeat attitude... mentally unstable people don't act happy and upbeat.

just because someone dresses a different way doesn't mean they are mentally unstable. She is a sane person she just has too much love for Kira. Sure she lets herself be controlled and mentally abused by Kira but haven't you ever seen a Maury show? i mean they have people on there that were treated like that but still loved their spouses very much. They weren't mentally unstable.

omg i love your siggy O_O ::steals:: nah im jk ;P

Idk why but u remind me alot of rikku... i want to adopt you XD :P maybe it's just because your name is near :/ ... maybe its rikku in disguise :O
You misinterprated my entire post. What I was endeavouring to articulate is that when some one still clings to a person even after open death threats then yes that person is not sane...period. And yes if a person holds on to some one even after abuse then their is some thing wrong in their upper story.

Light today has dawned on my wooden head.

Um yes it's my observation and anyone elses who reads the Manga or watches the Anime and sees that Misa is quite mentally unstable in her actions and her interests. If you don't see that then.. what can I do? *shrugs*
Also, I wasn't being stereotypical at all, just stating 'how it is' within the story. The fact that you try to make me sound as if i'm the type of person to stereotype, makes you the same kindof person, since you know nothing about me. Plus, it also makes you hypocritical
