Well, I would answer definitely not. I assume someone could be controlled to destroy a building before either killing themselves or dying by the Death Note holders wishes. But, destroying a planet would just be impossible.
I don't believe there is anyone on the face of Earth who would have access to the weapons necessary to destroy a planet. Peace Love Recycle |

Hiiii! Oren!
Well you said yourself Oren, the shinigami wouldn't attempt to destroy a building because they cant get life from it. Why cant they get life from it? I'll tell you why, it's because they don't believe the building is alive. The deathnote as such doesn't care about hte buliding. If you believed the buliding was alive and I mean really believe not just wished hard enough that it was, then you'd most certainly be able to glean life from simply from the fact that you believe there is life left to be taken from it. The deathnote isn't limited by the boundaries of what is alive, it's the users who are... in fact if you were to continue to stand to the fact that the deathnote could only kill humans then by reasonable deduction it implies that the deathnote knows the difference between a human and non-human life. Not just that, it also has the means to kill such a life if it exists. Couldn't one then argue that the deathnote was actualy "alive" and so one could presumably use one deathnote against another! Lol, nice try, but just nouns wouldn't work. If that were even plausible, Light would have annihilated the whole police force and L himself without having to see his face, by simply writing: "The person who calls himself L, together with anyone who attemtps to stop my agendas."
Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you view it), I believe only humans' names are acceptable. >_< There's no such thing as happy endings, for when you find true love, happiness is everlasting.

see that's the thing... if light had destroyed the police building then he could have taken them all out. The deathnote can only kill one person at a time agreed... but my point of contradiction is that it needn't be a "person"... it can be anything with life and as long as you believe your target entity has life then such life can be taken from it...

So according to your theory, if we recognize the building as alive, we can kill it? And this applies to everything - shinigami, death notes, planets, love, hatred, character, personality? Perhaps I missed out certain details on the series (nv did read the manga), but may I ask then what you are basing this information on?

On the fact that the death note in itself is not based on a limitation. The series never mentioned that the death note could only take human lives. It did mention that the person who's name was written in the note would die. It didn't say that a building who's name was written in the note wouldn't "die"... So as an opportunity to take the lack of facts and turn them into substantial theory I brought up the possibilities of the deathnote being truly multi dimentional...
Now I'm not saying that the deathnote would definitely kill the building, in fact if truth be told I'm relatively sure it couldn't but not for the reasons put forth so far...the real reason is .. Mwahah! I'm going to keep that a secret for now Omae mo kanjite no ka... kaze no koe? |
