Inuyasha wasn't a bad anime, but it got really boring after a while. Deahnote is new, and has a lot of potential, so I like it more. Inuyasha wasn't too bad when it was fresh, though.

I like Inuyasha a lot but I like Deathnote a lot too because Inuyasha was my first Manga....(I started to read it when I was in the second grade) and Deathnote was my first "Boy" Manga as my sister says. I go with your answer and say both. :/

Not really. They just used another character to fill in the Yotsuba storyline with the "new Kira". As for the lack of Mello and Near, I don't think I could explain that without actually spoiling the second movie.
