It's L Lawliet, according to 'Death Note 13: How to Read' which contains background infos to every characters.

Off topic: I think Near is the most evil character in Death Note. Much more evil than Light.

I don’t know how many people know that there is going to be a remake of Death Note movie with new cast (I guess English version of Death Note). Warner Brothers acquired the license of Death Note and is expected to come out 2011.

Death Note is so awesome! I love all the characters, but L and Ryuk are my favorites (: My cat is named Shinigami after him.
