Uh... well it's not a manga (as far as I know), but Gurren Lagann (especially the latter half) *could* qualify as a sci-fi love story.

I would like to recommend you to go enjoy naruto or one piece manga. I love both anime and regular watch it's anime episodes and manga spoiler.
