Ninja Scroll was a WONDERFULL movie! I loved the violance and sexieness. Where do you think of a poisen vagina????????? LOL

Ruroni Kenshin OVA's hmm? Havent seen it. I havent seen the tv sereise either, though.
@Grave...i agree...it's too depressing and maybe disturbing for younger viewers but i'm kind of expecting that matured viewers would appreciate it for being semi-historical...during the early post-war period of Japan, orphaned kids may have or could have experienced those kind of trajic things...

@Ocean...it's a coming of age film centered around an ordinary high school male student, his best friend and a girl, a reserved outcast who has caught the eyes of both friends. While bounds of friendship are tested, unlikely relationships grow and flourish in this made for television movie. Younger viewers might not like it for it's virtually devoid of action like sword-slashing and gun-slinging...it's not a fantastic fairytale adventure or a metaphorical epic on man's relationship with nature. Instead, it's exactly what it seems to be: a relatively simple story about a boy, a girl and a romance that develops out of nowhere. This is really Ocean Waves' most endearing quality; the characters possess genuine human feelings...

@Ninja Scroll...yeah, WONDERFUL movie indeed...Before Ruruoni Kenshin, there was Ninja Scroll..

@Ruroni Kenshin aka Samurai X...if u loved Ninja Scroll, then, u'll also love this semi-historical samurai story arc so better watch it or u'll be missing a lot...

7] Lupin the III: The Castle of Cagliostro (1979) ... i forgot to include this really old film but definitely one of my all-time faves by movies of this ever popular master thief, Lupin the III...

Japan does not understand very well that one of its proudest cultural achievements is in film--- Akira Kurosawa

Well, this over 30 viewer enjoyed it, but maybe I am not very mature. Oh well.

Maybe it will get more intence as the sereise proggresses. If you want somthing REALLY bad I recomend Koroshiya 1 (aka koroshiya ichi, or ichi the killer) or the works of Suehiro Maruo. Although I did LOVE the human flower pots!!!!! as for the comlexity its probably more phsycological then Koroshiya 1, and Maruo's works.
I didn't recomment MPD-Psycho because it is sadistic or graphic, but because it is a complex and fascinating fall into the brain of a psychopath.

Yes Museum of Terror, the reprints of "Tomie" and (in volume 3) short stories by Junji Ito. Some of the most desturbing manga I have ever read. Some horror manga-ka just draw alot of people murderd and cut up. The twisted and deformed bodys that Ito draws are soooo much more creative! XD and in abondent quantatie like you've never seen before. Junji Ito is my favorite horror manga-ka. If you like Tomie, try Uzumaki. Also, Gyo is excelent, but not quite as good.
I agree 100%

Kurosagi corpse delivery service, is WONDERFULL! Its from the same guy as MPD phsyco right? Personaly I liked Kurosagi better. I think it's more interesting, and has better gore.

Mail? Im not sure if I have heard of that. Description please.

Shaman Warior? Dont know what thats about...heh. Description?

Read what I wrote again. I think Death Note is probably the most psychologically challenging titles out there. I will be sad to see it end.

Mail looks great. Shaman warior looks ok. It looks better then most manhwa. I dont usualy like manhwa but I have a few exceptions. At least its better then american versions of manga.

I wasnt saying that MPD Pshyco wasnt good, because isnt isnt the goriest manga ever writen. I liked it alot. I enjoy mature phsycological stuff even when its not that gory (like death note) I was just disapointed with the gore. I would have liked it, just there was all this buzz about it being sooo sadistic, but it wasnt actualy that violant compared to some things.

Bobobo is GREAT! Just not very mature. I think this thread is more intended for mature anime and manga, thats all.

Thanks for the clarifications, it makes sense now.

I think MPD-Psycho is about as sadistic as you are going to get from a major publisher. Sure there are some really hard-core guro and ero stuff out there, but no one is publishing that stuff on a large scale outside Japan.

Thats true. Thats why I read scanslations :P

I think they translate more of that stuff in europe, but its mainly only in Japan. I cant think of anything other than Maruo from that genre, being translated into english (even he just has a few works published in english). Im not necasarily just talking about erotic grotesque manga, though. There are manga being published in the U.S, that has waaay more gore than somthing like MPD Phsycho but isnt just pure horror porn. Like for example, the non stop violants in Hellsing, or the repetitive images in Tomie, of her being killed extremley gruesemly over and over and over again.

I agree...though Berserk is still going, right?
