Sorry! (Mine, too!)

I read "Hanami" and "XS Hybrid" this week...two new manhwa from Dark Horse, and two really good titles.

You can check out my reviews by clicking the link on my signature.

I wonder if anyone else has read these.

I dont really like manhwa...I try to avoid it (but I think your webpage is AMAZING) I did like Dokebi Bride though. It has buetifull art and a creepy story.

I just bought volume one of le chevalier deon. I really liked it. It had some really cool gore and an interesting story.

Ok Im editing this to make it interesting enough to reply (LOL)
I know cross dressing is over-used in anime and manga but this is really new. This guy (cant remember, or pronounce, or spell his name) who is a spy for the king, dresses as his sister and her dead soul enters him and uses him as a vesel (well actualy its somthing more like they fuse together as one) to kill evil...poets? Aparantly if you write psalms in virgins blood it brings about the fall of france...?

If you like extreme asian cinema then you should check out the "snowblood apple" movie review site (Probably for the over 18s only as the images are a bit gory)

Anyway they review films such as the Tomie and the Guinea Pig movies and I agree with most of what they say. Stacy is a great movie, I just love the women dressed up in a bunny rabbit suit wielding a chainsaw.

Just came across the "Samehat" blogspot.

It describes itself as a "Weekly manga commentary, featuring horror, gag & erotic-grotesque nonsense". Seems worth a look too.

Thanks for the nice words, ILOVEJAPAN.

The Snowblood Apple forums are a great place with a lot of really passionate and intelligent users. (I am a mod there, too...) The rules are a lot, ahem, stricter there than here. SO it is just flame-free intelligent discussions about movies (mostly).

Same Hat is a great blog, too. They talk a lot about hardcore guro manga, but also about other manga and anime related events.

I also like mangablog as a good jumping off place every day. She keeps it very up to date. Very dedicated.

I have seen samehat before. I have read all of there scans. The gag strips are WAY TOO FUNNY!!! Japanese do gag comics so much better!!!!! They are so weird and random and dont have a punch line!

They also have nice scans of Junji Ito and Suehiro Maruo. Although the one they have of Ito isnt some of his best work. The Maruo ones they have are very nice but not his most perverse. Thats ok though, dosent need to be perverted as long as its gory.

I go to mangavolume.com for scans they have ALOT.
If anyone likes horror in general Im also a member of fearnet.com, they do have an asian horror forum and thats the only forum I have posted on in recent months.
Also, Im not sure if anyone here is intersted in Rumiko Takahashi (I do addmit her work isnt the most adult) but I love her. A really nice fansite of her work is furinkan.com the webmasters are really nice and frequantly reply threads on all the forums. Although I do think there rules are a little strict.

Rumiko Takahashi:

I liked Ranma up until they introduced Happosai. The character made the whole series seem really childish but even without him I think the series itself was running out of ideas at this point.

Maison Ikkoku - I generally hate romance and not a big fan of comedy but I liked this series (mainly 'cos I used to be a hard up single student myself), again with many long series I gave up on about volume 10 with the manga as it was getting repetitive and I knew how it would end anyway.

Couldn't be bothered with Inu Yasha, but loved the Mermaid series (as a manga). I kind of liked the anime but the monsters were more comedy than horror, though I'd highly recommend it anyway.

Anyway back onto horror manga, just read Jisatsu Circle. I really liked the film Suicide Club as I love strangeness as much as gore and it was certainly a strange film. I thought the manga was going to be a retelling of the story but there was such a great twist only a few pages in, well worth a look. Will have to check out Elfen Lied... I found the characters too annoying in the anime but they may come across better in the manga.

Anyway I'm about to check out "The Big O". Giant Robo is one of my favourite all time series though I was really disappointed with Tetsujin 28, Robo just had so much more depth to it.
