How is it in your country with "national manga"?If you do a good comics in manga style do you have chanse to sign an contract, and publish your works (in few or even lots of volumes)??

one company in the US and Uk that does take on new manga and artists is Dark Horse, they were the first to publish MegaTokyo

If you visit the Tokyopop website you can entire a 20 page manga and if they like it they'll publish your stuff. Thats what I am working on now. But I want to get a little bit better first.

reading this thread gave me this idea that i think would be really good and i feel like rambling about all of a sudden.

in these countries where all of us aspiring manga artists are stuck without many real publishing opportunities, some publishing company should start a monthly or whatever manga magazine, featuring manga drawn by aspiring artists. and there could be a section of little samples of lots of peoples manga, and the readers can vote on which ones they'd like to see published...
and then the manga artists that are really good and popular could be given contracts and published separately.

a good idea, ne?

I started one, but then it turned into just a story I'm now writing...there's a bunch of single character context pix, and one taken from the manga (I colored it in, tho) I've got little to no patience and a perfection issue w/my pictures, so it's a little difficult for me...lol!
