hello I'm going to be going to an anime convention and I was wondering what I should do to prepare and what goes on at them because this will be my first.
I don't think I will be able to cosplay for it because money issues so that brings me to another question will I stick out like a sore thumb if I don't cosplay? any help on this would be appreciated thank you and I typed in search for a thread on this and didn't find one just so you know I searched. |

If you're not wearing a costume, don't worry, there are a lot of people that don't.
What to expect is a little different everywhere. Anime Expo is the biggest in North America (been going there for the past 3 years) and they have concerts, an American Idol ripoff performance, AMV contest, anime episodes showing in different rooms, dealer's hall (exhibit hall - where you buy stuff), Artist gallery, etc... So it really depends. Any con you go to should have a website with info about what they're doing. If it's a rather popular one (like Anime Expo) be prepared for lines and depending on where it is, make sure you dress for the weather (my boyfriend got a nasty sunburn standing in line). I would also suggest going with a friend or two, makes the experience more fun. Which con are you going to? Kabuta, tanuki, kitsune, neko!
