For one its Elfen Lied, as for two it is violent 25 people die within the first five minutes of the first episode. There is also enough blood to fill probably 10-20 Olympic sized swimming pools.

If you like puppy dogs you might want to skip a scene.
There are some clips and music comps on youtube.

The main reason I stopped watching the series, was I saw that in an AMV... Brutal that was certainly for shock value.

I think that was a brave scene to include. It is very striking and also emotionally well done.

True it was brave but a bit much for me to be honest, I may still finish the series someday.

Yes, Elfen Lied is extremley violant, and bad things do happen to inocent little girls and puppy's. But that's really no excuse not to watch this show.

*The animation and music was done by an extremley talented team of animators and compossers, and is some of the best I have ever heard.

*It is extremley depprssing, and the story is writen almost perfectly, in terms of timing, the way each episode is ended, developing solid characters in only 13 episodes, etc.

*It reflects human behavior in a very negative light, but it really makes you refflect upon yourself...

I think every anime fan needs to watch this sereise, go buy the complete boxset right now! See you once you come back having watched the whole sereise

Elfen Lied the anime messed me up. I like the manga much more. It didn't disturb me as much as watching the anime. I love violence in anime but not when it has disturbing social parts like characters telling their story about being molested by their father, urinating on the floor...etc. That turned me off there. I'll stay with the classic Fist of the Northstar for my gorefest.
