I think that there will come a time when anime and all that is related to it will not be as trendy as it is now. But never forgotten b/c nothing is every truly forgotten. There will always be at least one otaku in the world (and I very nearly guarantee more).

Sure, it will be replaced, but it won't ever be left behind. Out with the old, and in with the new seems to be a common frame of thought in our world today.

Anime will be forgoten no sooner than eating or sleeping or breathing.

In other countries it might seem like somthing that suddenly just became popular, but in Japan has been around for decades, and is a cultural thing that can't really be replaced.

Anime will evolve, like computer games will evolve. In the future, we'll be running around in Virtual Realites, shocked by the fact that people had to press buttons to play games. But, people will never forget the early computers, the Spectrums, Commodore 64s, the ZX81 and the NES.

Oh you've never heard of these? Well so much for that theory then.

I agree, I think it will just evolve. It is too important in Japan to forget. (Not to mention what will all the Hikikomori watch?

I personally do not think anime is a fad. There'll be people who'll love it and there'll still be people who hate it.

Thanks for reading!
