Wow this was actually one of the most decent religious threads i've ever seen on this forum before this idiot started talking a bunch of nonsense.
There was no fighting or rudeness going on.
I love seeing people like you Gerlandox, get hot and bothered about Islam.
Noone ever gets hot and bothered about any other religion when it is talked about be it Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism or whatever. But you get hot and bothered by ISLAM.

You can't handle the fact that Islam is actually the largest religion in the world and it is STILL Growing. It has REAL world answers for all our problems and yes those include NOT drinking Alcohol, NOT gambling, NOT using women as sex slaves and so on. Of course I expect a person like you to do ALL of these things so you can boast about them in that garbage heap post in a language vaguely reminiscent of "English."
Then you wonder why there is so much crap going on in EVERY country of the world? Teen pregnancies, Rapes, Murders, Alcoholism, Pedophilia, Sexual Promiscuity, Drugs, Abortion.. what answers have YOU got?
NONE.
That is why you get hot and bothered. Islam has answers for all of these and much more but you can not TAKE it. All of you have is some silly home brewed philosophy on how the world SHOULD work.
Guess what Home slice? If your man made philsophy worked, we still wouldn't be having the same problems in the 21st century. The world is a mess because your man made philosophy is ADDICTIVE.
On top of that, you think someone is trying to convert you? You think YOU are THAT important?
We believe that ALLAH converts who he wills to his path. It is for no PERSON to convert anyone through brute force. If it's been done in the past, it has been a wrong doing. It is a requirement for a Muslim to become a Muslim by FREE WILL.
Of course when you be-little Islam you can only look at the negative so called "muslim" people who don't practice it and use that in your bulls*** propaganda. You are an ignorant person who has no clue what a real Muslim is and what he/she is capable of.
You also think that science dictates how you should live your life and that religion has no place in such an "evolved" society.

I should think, since you are Muslim, you would know that in Islam, religion does equal culture. It is its own culture, if it's practiced. As you and others have said, it has its own ways for family life, social life, politics, and so on. You have also said that countries that aren't implementing Islam completely in those ways are not truly Islamic.

The Japanese would have to part with many things in their culture if they became Islamic--for example, the festivals. I'm sure you're aware that the Japanese have tons of festivals and holidays...most would have to go, since they are Shinto or Buddhist celebrations and involve offerings to gods, etc. They would also have to stop pilgrimages and temple/shrine visits, also a big part of the culture. The would lose their Buddhist monasteries, a lot of which carry on national treasures like flower arranging, calligraphy, sword-making, etc. The culture would lose a lot.

Speaking of which, one question. Does true Islam still prohibit representation in art (the drawing of human or animal figures), and musical instruments?

I think what Naruto is trying to say is that Islam can be integrated into a culture. Of course, no two cultures in the world are the same so when they mix, they will not stay totally the same.

Take for example asian immigrants going to the west. They usualy take their culture and language with them right? AND they integrate in the western culture also (most). It's the same in Islam. Of course, some parts of a culture might be lost if they are forbidden in islam (like, alcohol), but that doesn't mean that they will lose their culture totally. It will simply evolve. Like all cultures do. Anime and Manga is another part of japanese culture that is very new. Which means their culture has evolved and integrated new things.

So, yes, islam is a way of life, but that doesn't mean other cultures can't be mixed with this way of life. I am a muslim. I have my own culture as well as Islam. If islam was 100% of ones culture, then all muslims in the world would be the same. But in fact, we have many things in common but not always our culture.

In the Qur'an it also says (16.125)
Call to the way of your Lord with wisdom and goodly exhortation, and have disputations with them in the best manner; surely your Lord best knows those who go astray from His path, and He knows best those who follow the right way.

Joly-san, you're right about festivals ans such, but that doesn't meant a whole change of culture, I think 'noodle' said it correct, as different Muslims in the world have alot of differences.

Maybe yes maybe no, actually that's not for me to say, there are Islamic scientists who try to find out with their Islamic knowledge and then make a call, unfortunatly some of them said it's ok and some of them said it's not, so actually I am not less confused about that than you, but my personal opinion is that these issues are not very important, if someone here knows things I don't know please teach me .

There some subject we just can't talk on JF...I don't see the point of this thread here...Everybody had his own vision of religion or faith or whtever you called tht...the fact to have his own opinion is suppose to created a exchange and people are are suppose to talk about what they think...religion is a very personal thing and i don't think people here have the maturity to make a "simple" exchange of that...that why its always "par en sucette"..(noodle explain please..lol) So guys Keep it real

Unfortunately there was one person that came here and ruined a perfectly OKAY thread, now you're right, it has gone en sucette. haha.
