ah well girls----------have your own way-- I am past caring at all.
Maybe we can start a fresh thread where we can discuss these things without interfering with YURI. Jambo you have no heart at all if Poetry doesn't move you. Shame really but there you are. I wonder how I have ever survived without all this technicality? If one can never open a heart to the wonders of the English Language thats such a shame. A bit like those who only try one sort of music? Its a big world out there why limit ways of learning. Maybe we can discuss this elsewhere. Ps when I see some advisers who get simple things such as TO or TOO wrong or There They're, Your, You're-- surely that also should be corrected? |

shame on you that you do not appreciate poetry. It is Musical, mythical, imaginative Wonder what you would say about Shakespeare then? Actually it was WILLIAM BUTLER YEATS that wondrous Irish Poet. Words in poems stretch vocabulary magnificently. Poems open our minds to the beauty and variations in our Language. HAD I the heavens' embroidered cloths, Enwrought with golden and silver light, The blue and the dim and the dark cloths Of night and light and the half-light, I would spread the cloths under your feet: But I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet; Tread softly because you tread on my dreams. come on Jambo is that not exquisite? |

Hi, folks!
I’m sorry; I seem to have gotten lost. I want to know what the “/” in that sentence. You know, usually “/” is used as “A /B” and you mean you can use both A and B. However, the sentence doesn’t seem to have “B”. Is that a typing error as JamboP26 said? If you have questions about my post or Japanese customs, don't hesitate to ask. I YamaP |

So yes, I agree with JamboP26's conclusion. Hope that is of some use, Yuri. Unfortunately for you, she is not here. "Ride for ruin, and the world ended!" |

I apologise for misunderstandings. It was actually the OBLIQUE sign that should have been in/TO. I misunderstood Jambo's correction.
I actually meant that "TO" should be used rather than "IN" in that particular sentence. SORRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Everyone. I'll try to stay out of it in future. |

I prefer to show the correction in red, as I've seen others do, as it draws attention to the correction. I may also put a little note of explanation either in brackets beside the correction, or underneath the quoted post. I think we are all ready for your next query, Yuri.
(I am studying IT at college, & am currently on HND level, looking at university next year. As a result of this, I may miss the odd piece of English requiring correcting. So, guys, keep up the good work ) An Cafe, Vidoll, Versailles, Dir En Grey, Deathgaze, the GazettE, alice nine., UVERworld, Kiryu , YUI, AKB48, Buono!, Berryz Koubou, C-ute, S/mileage, Morning Musume, Zoro, Lolita23Q, Visual Kei, Oshare Kei, J-Rock, J-Pop, Idol groups FTW (≧∀≦) |
