I live in NYC and his death was the huge talk of the city today - he lived in Brooklyn and I kept overhearing conversations on the subway between people who said they had seen him often out and about and how sad they were for his loss. It is a really sad loss. New York will miss him.

yeah i heard that yesterday.i actually cried a bit.he was such a good actor.it was said in the russian news that his wife left him and that´s why he commited a suicide.

I'm from australia, so everyone here is feeling the loss of such a good actor and a fine bloke. He seemed so real, none of that fake crap some celebs put on. And his version of the joker will kick ass! Rest in peace Heath Ledger.

I was so shocked about this...the news was on TV the other night but i wasnt really paying attention to it, and i heard the words 'heath ledger' and 'dead' and i was like..oh my god.
 Its such a shame...he was a great actor.  "10 things i hate about you" is one of my most favourite movies ever..>_< R.I.P <3

Dang it, it is not like he was my favorite actor, but he was up in that list after Jackie Chan and Jet Li. I really enjoyed his acting in the movie "10 things I hate about you" it was like he was actually living the part. I've also noticed that he was the joker in the upcoming batman movie! what a shame...Maybe the stress got to him so he felt that he needed an extra dose of his perscription sleeping pills, poor guy I hope he Rests in Peace.
