I'm not sure what to believe about the 2012 thing. I'm neutral about it. My mom's always saying that there's a lot of signs that the end is coming [we're all religious] but then she says that there's supposed to be all these false signs and stuff in every generation and then she goes on about how humans aren't going to know [ever] when the end is and that "it will come like a thief in the night."
