most people still do 3 A Levels... I don't know the reason for AS, but I thought it was to give us a choice... because after one year, you're meant to drop one of your subjects... The English education system is too specific unlike others, eg, international baccalaureate (which is a lot harder in the sense that it has a lot mroe subjects)

There is a paper purely for alegra?! I'm actually pretty good at algebra. The GCSE higher paper was full of it, that's probably how I scraped a C. I just can't work stuff out in my head, it annoys me! >.<

Hm, I don't know. I do 4 AS Levels now and I'm going to continue them all in A2 Level depending on how well I do.

You're an exception then...Most colleges/sixth forms don't allow you to do that... They allowed me to do 4 A-levels because french was easy and it was an evening class... So in fact, I was only able to fit in 3 A-levels during the day... But for you, the more the merrier ... it'll help you greatly with university!!!

Yeah I guess so ^_^

The course I'm doing only requires 160 UCAS points, but hey the more I've got the better chance I have of getting it

But then in the resits I got a lot better.

Edit: yeah, I think Yinnie explained all this

Thanks kitski ! Great to see you again, btw ^^

I've totally forgotten how the UCAS points work... It's 60 points for an A in A-level right? Yeah, you're right, the more points the better, but make sure you make a fantastic personal statement, that can count just as much as your grade if not more!!!

Nope, much more than that, for an A Level. One second I will go have a look in my school diary ^_^

Aha!

An A at AS Level is 60, so that's what you were thinking of. A whole A Level at an A grade is worth 120 UCAS points. So if I get an A in something at A Level, I'm well on my way there.

It's like this:

AS LEVEL

A - 60
B - 50
C - 40
D - 30
E - 20

A LEVEL

A - 120
B - 100
C - 80
D - 60
E - 40

Yeah you are right about that! I've got so much to put down though, so I'm sure I'll be fine in that! I might even start practicing my personal statement soon. If I don't get into University my parents will be so pissed >.<
