most people still do 3 A Levels... I don't know the reason for AS, but I thought it was to give us a choice... because after one year, you're meant to drop one of your subjects... The English education system is too specific unlike others, eg, international baccalaureate (which is a lot harder in the sense that it has a lot mroe subjects)

You're an exception then...Most colleges/sixth forms don't allow you to do that... They allowed me to do 4 A-levels because french was easy and it was an evening class... So in fact, I was only able to fit in 3 A-levels during the day... But for you, the more the merrier ... it'll help you greatly with university!!!

I've totally forgotten how the UCAS points work... It's 60 points for an A in A-level right? Yeah, you're right, the more points the better, but make sure you make a fantastic personal statement, that can count just as much as your grade if not more!!!

Aha! An A at AS Level is 60, so that's what you were thinking of. A whole A Level at an A grade is worth 120 UCAS points. So if I get an A in something at A Level, I'm well on my way there. It's like this: AS LEVEL A - 60 B - 50 C - 40 D - 30 E - 20 A LEVEL A - 120 B - 100 C - 80 D - 60 E - 40 Yeah you are right about that! I've got so much to put down though, so I'm sure I'll be fine in that! I might even start practicing my personal statement soon. If I don't get into University my parents will be so pissed >.< |
