It is very true that there was a time in his 26 years in Congress that John McCain was a maverick. That time has passed. No one has bad-mouthed McCain for having a history, but it does worry me to hire a 72-year-old man that doesn't know how to read email to the most important job in our country.

Why would you think Obama isn't completely behind the US? The right-wing machine has really tried to push the notion that Barack and Michelle Obama are anti-American. I don't know what choosing an obviously well-liked and well-known and experienced VP could be a bad idea. I am no expert, but assumed it would be Biden for months. He is an obviously good choice.

The problem is that McCain has had some worthy ideas, and has stood up to his own party and been right to do so -- and has now gone back on many of those important principles. Bring back the John McCain who opposes torture.
