Check out that movie if you haven't seen it yet. Swedish buddy of mine here in Japan introduced it to me -- good stuff.
Thanks, that looks good I need to check it out

Oh Lawd.

Never in my whole life have I ever wanted to pick up a torch and make like Fahrenheit 451 to all modern, contemporary, vampire novels/novelas.

My credentials: I have yet to read Dracula. But at least I know where the bar is set.

Some psudo-wanna-be-rock-band neard game who thinks that a kaleidoscope is a musical instrument? Not a vampire?

Some pale somewhat sexy guy who has "a distant look in his eyes" 24/7 who doesn't even attempt to be seductive? Not a vampire?

A gothic, and I mean truly gothic man, living in solitude, who seduces beautiful women before killing them? A vampire.

Learn the rules before you break 'em; know where the bar's set before you bash your face into it.

There's a different between putting a twist into something, and making it shit and destroying the whole concept.

Imagine making James Bond into a gay person for example. Yes, it's an interesting twist, but it destroys the whole concept. (Note: I have nothing against homosexuals. I'm just making a comparison)

Be happy rather than a critic? Be happy of what? Some writers who have no imagination or skill in literature, making books which become "Best sellers" because they cater for the horniness in the juvenile young teen girls of the modern day?

Vampires are cool. Don't get me wrong. And vampire novels, which are written properly are very good. These "neo-vampire novels" are only love stories in disguise.

Mkay, sure. But what happens when these new "vampire twists" become the run-of-the-mill crap that you show such verbal distain for?

Can't there be a happy critic? When I criticize the absolute garbage produced by authors that have been published, it makes me happy that, even though some of my work may never see the light of publication, that me and the guy next to me who got an 8 on the Undergraduate Writing Profeciency Exam can write 10 times better.

Bottom line: Vampires aren't vegetarians and they don't sparkle in the sunlight. If that kind of stuff gets your motor running, you should hang yourself.

WRONG!

Twilight is just the same old vamprie romance crap. Girl meets vampire, falls in love with said vampire, blah blah blah!

Vampire novels can be good or just crap. Right here, though, I can tell that none of these are even worth reading. Vampires shouldn't just be limited to romance novels. its get boring, predictable and just down right annoying!
