Good Lord.
I finally went to the gym today, walked in, and walked out embarrassed as hell. I realized that not only do I not know what exercises I need to be doing to tone my body the way I want to, but I have no idea how to work the machines found inside! If there was ever a time I've felt like an idiot, I can add this to my list (it's huge, trust me). How in the world do people reach 1,000+ posts? Skadoosh.

Oh I got the courage and will, just no knowledge.
Plus, the personal trainers there that could help me out with using the machines and all that jazz are kinesiology majors at my school. Bit of a buzz kill to know that I gotta' time my gym schedule with theirs. How in the world do people reach 1,000+ posts? Skadoosh.

They will probably be thrilled to share thier knowledge. You gotta start somewhere, so don't sweat that stuff. Soon you'll be one of the folks at the gym instructing others on stuff. Maybe get a few books from the library on fitness that tell you how to use the machines and how to plan a workout, then go and talk to a gym instructor. You'll be armed with a bit of knowledge and won't appear to be such a noob.
