i actually prefer kansai ben to be honest. it's quite more masculine sounding and not as annoying as kanto can be at times the fiance hates it and one of her best friends is from sakai city in osaka

I have to agree. Sometime Kanto-ben doesn't sound...honest? I know that's just my personal hang-up, but it feels easier to express yourself in Kansai-ben.

For me it might be because I have watched more Kanto-ben on tv and movies than have actually spent time there. It just seems like when Takuya Kimura says "いいじゃん" it just doesn't doesn't seem authentic.
