Japanese Gift ideas for a woman? - 11-02-2008, 05:03 AM

Hello, Bree-Chan here, as you know Christmas is coming up quickly- and I need help with gift ideas.I am getting my boyfriends mom (whose like my other mom) a gift- she is really into Japanese things but I can't think of something really unique that has a really significant meaning behind it. Shes gotten me a Japanese bowl set and real tea pot and cups so i cant use that idea- anything nice and thoughtful- ideas are appreciated (and something not too expensive)

Thankies!

Bree-Chan!

it's a type of cookie called "gaufre"

can be a little pricey in the bigger bundles, but still something very unique for a japanese gift.

plastic laquer. laquer ware is very expernsive and famously traditionaly japanese. These days they laquer plastic bowls and boxes in traditional shapes and designs with beautiful laquer. They have become acceptable and used in japane and yu can find them for a fraction of the price. Just got one for my boss in Osaka.
