My ex used to be a cutter. He was so stupid >_>

And I have a friend who had an inflicting mental disease. I'd rather not say to much about this particular disease, as I was sworn not to tell anyone about it. Sadly, she isn't getting help, and should be gone within a year or so

I think it's sick how people can treat themselves, and even worse when they're driven to do it (like my friend).

I do not wish to agree with everyone here who think that those who cut themselves are retards or stupid.
Sure, we got masochists who enjoy it, and brainless emos kids who cut themselves just to get attention.
Then there are people who do it just for the thought that they can control their pain or those religious fanatics who nail themselves to a cross just to feel the same what Christ felt when he was crucified.
But there are those who hurt themselves because of mistakes they do (this what I'm afraid most). My cousin had a friend who goes in this category. She looked like any other girl, but she was very sensitive, she explained to my cousin that every time she did something wrong, like breaking a cup of saying something impolite to another person she felt deep guilt and only self pain infliction could help her. The whole point that she must suffer for what she did made her feel relief. It's a shame that when I tell this story to other people they instantly tag her as an emo or a weirdo.

Never tried it, however I do think that now that societies around the world have gotten bigger, the freedom laws have gotten larger (and extremely retarded). People, in general, feel that they have too much free time in their hands, they feel like a nobody, expendable. They watch all this media, they think they are isolated.

I think if any person had to work for their living at an early age, self harm would be the last thing in their mind.

Everyone's being shepherded into a society that enslaves you to just earn money. Free living, free luxuries, just churn money and bam, what you going to do? Become indifferent harm yourself and exaggerate the suffering you feel.

If you want to feel pain, do this:

- Be a good guy/girl
- Stay clean, no STD's
- Give Blood

Seriously, if you know anyone that harms themselves try to bring them out of that circle, its pretty easy, you just have to have patience and slap them a few times. not literally, but you know. Be a pillar of support.

Life was given to you! Treasure it.Nobody is more important than you, life is bias in this world only your view matter! Together, each with their own views, we balance the world.

If you're stressed turn a blind eye to it, you know worry not so much, just say, like Hiro from Heroes "Pinchu", you know, realise that you're in deep shit, but don't let it stress out, believe that it will sort out.

Debts, bullying, lack of friends, different, disabled, other issues. You are you, stop letting such things worry you. Get control of your mind! and matter will control itself.

Believe in yourself.

anyway, enough motivational speech. Seriously. Anyone can do anything, I mean even disabled people are winning medals faster than healthy people.

Enjoy your life.

I agree with you, Rei. It's really not that attractive, but I assume he does it to keep in touch with his feelings all litterately.
I heard that Angelina Jolie sometimes cuts herself with a knife just to see her blood - make sure she's still human. I guess that's what the business does to you..

Either way, I dun find it very attractive.

I agree with Bureda wholesomely, and I'm going to take a stand for what I believe is right. Self-mutilation should NEVER be a last resort or ANY resort to life's difficulties. The problem is, people worry about stuff that they really shouldn't be fretting about. Adding up all of these unnecessary problems just builds up insurmountable loads of stress which can make you deteriorate as a human being, thus resulting in things like cutting.

You're life isn't as bad as you think it is, so stop thinking it is. You believe you have it tough? Look at third-world countries constantly under the palm of war and famine. You have an amazing life, don't screw with it. No excuses.

Still doesn't make it right.

The topic here is not about KYO, the main topic here is SELF INFLICTED PAIN.
