That's not a excuse for his crime.
You can't blame the Otaku.
That's a load of crap.

We hear and see terrible things all the time going on in our world.
That's the sort of crap that really messes up people not cartoons.
Or movies with fake blood squirting everywhere.

This is the point! Not every guy who fails to build up his career or can't find a girlfriend goes nuts and stabs randomly some people!
Sure, japanese society is really cruel with those who fail, but in this case its not the only one to be blamed. It's just an act of a 25yo young man with some kind of mental illness.

There are 30 million people in the greater Tokyo area. One snaps and decides to go on a killing spree. One deranged mind. It is not that surprising when you think of how many people there are in the city.

that was really disturbing... how can you do something like that?

lets have a moment quiet for the victims...

i think it might be because of a video game..
the messages were like gta if you ask me... running trough the street with a knife...

how do u stop these things from happening?

GTA isn't that popular in Japan.

Lets all blame those evil video games!!

No but really, with so many persons in such a limited space, a few loons are bound to be out there. Games or not. How many murders are there yearly in e.g. New York? By "cool non-nerdy" guys?

I just love it when media starts the whole "omgnerdloserblametheviolentgames" thing. The person, and not entertainment companies, is responsible for his actions.

That said, this is pretty f*n awful though. Really hard to prevent these things too.

I think it's sad to see a 25-yrold that feels as he hasn't "made it by now, it's over." Most people don't know much about life, what they wanna be, let alone found someone they wanna spend their life with at 25 ('tleast outside Japan).

Yeah, New York is a good example, but you know what is an even better example? Ontario Canada man, we only have a population of 12,891,787 (6 mil short of New York) in Ontario, yet random shooting/killing happen almost on a daily basis since 2006..

Quite frankly i think its hilarious, quote from the murderers mind "What am i gunna do today...Oh i know i crash a truck into a heap of people and if i dont kill enough i'll go on a mad stabbing spree to see how many points i can get before the police catch me" Ah what a hero....
