So true! Politicians and voters alike reached across partisan boundaries this time.

I know we don't vote to make the economy fall apart...we vote so we can have a president and stay the free country we are...but what I'm saying is, we can easily make a wrong mistake.
I never said we didnt need to listen to them...but we shouldnt base our whole vote on what we hear in the campaign.

I watched a bit of it whilst I was at uni. Hopefully we will see some positive changes. I have great expectations of him, time will tell.

George W. Bush did the same thing 8 years ago, with the same high expectations from the American Citizens. The new president of the United States has'nt proved or changed anything yet, will he change anything? That's still yet to be answered, I'm not gonna expect anything from him, because maybe 4 or 8 years from now, people will say that Barrack Obama and George Bush are no different from each other. I respect George Bush though, he tried his best.

I especially enjoyed the part of Obamas inaug. speech that mentions our forefathers coming to this country and settling the west. I'm not so sure the native americans who where already settled here in the west enjoyed this part.

I stayed up late to watch the "pre-game show," the inauguration, and President Obama's speech, then went out to celebrate with my friends.

For me this is a great moment because so many things came together at the same time. Even if Obama were a white man, it would be a cause for celebration that such an intelligent and uniting figure is to occupy the White House. The fact that his skin is black is, strange though it sounds to say it, symbolic of the greatness that has emerged in the American people. Sixty years ago that color would have been enough to get him banished from the voting booth. Today it was not deemed worthy for consideration in choosing a president.

By the way, as the New York Times recently noted, Obama's election is an absolute PR nightmare for Al Qaeda. They tried to dismiss him as a "house slave" but it just isn't going to wash, anywhere in the world.

I envy Sinestra for being there at this moment.

Is there anywhere I can read the speech?
