It seems strange to me to call CO2 a "pollutant" as it is what all mammals breathe out naturally, and what all plant-life takes in naturally. When I think pollutant I am thinking of something which is harmful on it's own to life on Earth...things like carbon monoxide...

You know - in my opinion, it doesn`t really matter whether "global warming" or "climate changes" (or whatever the newest term for it is) is real.
It doesn`t make a bit of difference. Instead of getting hung up on "theories" - can`t people just agree that in the end it is a good thing to try to reduce emissions, clean up the environment, etc? It`s like if you see a chunk of rotting trash in the street. Instead of whining and having a fight about who put it there, and whether it`s natural material... Why not just agree that it doesn`t belong in the middle of the street, and that it`s better for everyone to just clean it up. I can`t say I`m a fan of the use of the "global warming" term and fear mongering as a marketing tool (which 90% of it is at this point...) BUT at the same time, it certainly won`t hurt anything to clean things up. |

I like to blame our local Asda supermarket. they never switch off their lights, ever. even during the day they light up the car park. silly Asda.
and it costs so much to use public transport around here, I may as well give my mum a few quid to drive me. (although she rarely agrees to it, bah!). Asda and WestMids Travel have doomed us all. |

well, according to my friend who studies geography in cambridge,
Global warming occurs naturally anyways, so the threat of 'global warming' always seems to be terrifying when it's really not.what i'm trying to say is whatever apocalypse would happen anyway, so preventing it is kinda stupid... but it won't happen for another hundred million years maybe. Do you think that it is a good thing for everyone to dirty the environment? Do you think people should avoid trying to take better care of things? You can disagree with the terminology, but I think it would be hard to disagree with the actual actions put forth as "prevention". |

Of course it is wrong to not look after your environment but in that case it becomes irrelevant to this topic. Quote:
