Maybe "symbolizes" wasn't the best term to use, but still, there is truth in my sentence. I've read some books about Japan and articles that say that you shouldn't give anything that's wrapped in white or white flowers. I also found something about that in wikipedia:

In Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, and Japanese tradition, white is the color of mourning and death.

So basiclly what it is is that the girls give the guy they like chocolate hoping he'll accept it. And if he does thats good. Some guys like to compete and see how much chocolate they'll get. On white day the guys return the chocolate to the girl they were given chocolate by.
