I think Kudo seems to have some sort of contact with ShinjukuEki. I am not being sarcastic when I say I have no solid clue who made us moderators [I presume it was ShinjukuEki, though.] The reason for us being moderators technical aspect aside, is because people voted for us.
Perhaps the income comes from the main site which this forum is connected to? That seems to be a reasonable explanation. Saying that, most main sites with a forum I've seen have adverts on both... I am thankful we don't have ads here though! Haha moderators getting paid... now there is a good one!
