Original article on Mainichi Shimbun last month.
カワイイ大使:ファッションのカリスマ3人 外務省が 任命 - 毎日jp(毎日新聞) Not much fanfare there. The Reuters article left out that these girls are going to Bangkok this March. Reuters also added a lot of "expert analysis" which is absent from the original article. |

Also from the original article, the way the Japanese media reported it, there is no fanfare. Looks like business as usual. |

More analysis, and they left out Bangkok. I'm saying because in the original article, it clearly said their first mission is to go to Bangkok, and then Paris.
Maybe by the time Reuter got onto this story, they already came back from Bangkok? *shrugs* Hey this might boost failing exports... well those fansubs surely isn't helping. |

As lame as it sounds - I seriously think they are on to something.
I mean, look around - how many people on this board want to visit or live in Japan for exactly those reasons? You can`t blame them for trying to appeal to people with what is popular about Japan in the west... |
