It's pretty sad that some people are more interested in the girls than the actual culture and country itself.

I have to agree. I won't lie, I like Japanese girls more-so than other races. But they were not the first thing that caught my eye about Japan. The history and culture is probably what caught my interest at first.

It's because you don't know japanese girls.

Maybe you like the way they look but really, japanese girls are a bunch of trouble.

Gimme a stick and I'll make a masterpiece out of it, go figure.

I've had an attraction to the culture since I was young.
Martial arts always caught my attention (especially samurai) even though I haven't ever taken 1 class!

I find the amount of work and skill involved in making a katana (or any sword for that matter) is something which should be cherished and never lost.

The language I find is great (at least kana). I don't know any Kanji yet, so I don't have anything to say other than it's been a hard time motivating myself to learn the language on my own while looking forward to eventually memorizing a ton of them. I just want to be able to have conversations with people in Japanese & maybe do some basic reading/writing.

I also like (as someone previously said) the attitude of the general population; which is you are responsible for yourself.
I really have come to anguish in the matter of how we are babied here in the US.

The life there just seems something I would enjoy to experience.

Are there gas stations in America where you pull into the area and a bunch of people run towards your car, direct you where to go, hand you towels to clean the inside of your car, wipe off all of your windows, empty your trash and ash tray, and then even stop traffic so you can leave?

No....

Yeah same. I would have put that in my first post, but as the last thread i started got locked instantly, I didn't. I called my post something like "what do you like about japanese girls?".
