Fate or Choice?

Wow Pex, To be or not to be ?

Let's me share with you what I think about that.

First, nothing is all Black or White. Everything is a different shade of gray
The same is true for Fate and Choice.

You know, we have the choice at every single moment of our life. Right now I have the choice to do whatever I want in my environment. I could simply smash myself in the face, I could run and scream incorehently, I could type the word "BALLS", etc. We are facing billions of choice-situations every day.
We are free to choose what are the actions we want to make.
Unfortunately, most of the time we are just not aware of this because we are not fully conscious, like when we follow routines or do stuff by habits or instincts, social conscience, etc.

Now that's for the choice part

About fate...
It's fine to have the choice of our actions but things are a little bit more complicated than that. Around us, there is hundred of billions of trillions of fucklions of things that also happen. And this influence us somehow.
It create events that you couldn't choose at all.
Is it predetermined before it happen ? It's hard to say. For example movements of planets and stars are set so maybe we could say that it's somehow predestined... but at the same time every other persons around you who also make choices make that it's also kinda random. Again, nothing is white or black.

So I think that fate exist, but when it bump into you, it's your choices that will determine what will happen next. Or the other way, when you make a choice, it is fate that will influence how this will end up.

I believe in choice if you choose to drink and then drive yourself home and you get in a car wreck then it not fate you made the decision to get in the car. So if you decided to sit at home all your days and not do anything then that your choice but if you made the decision to get off the couch and go see a movie then you made the choice to do that. Fate doesnt determine anything you determine what your going to do. you determine your own fate the decision you made on a regular basis.

According to your logic, I would drink then drive but make the choice not to get in an accident.

you made the decision to get in the car...if your under the influence of alcohol you cant control all your senses you are not going to be focus on driving and you might get into a wreck...of course you dont want to get into a wreck when you drive! That why there a law called Dont Drink And Drink.

what i can say to that is, living things have choice and objects have fate......and the fate for everything is................. death/destruction/obliteration

This "You might" mean that it's not sure.
And why is it not sure ? Because you don't have control on everything.
You can drink and drive 2000 times and nothing happen
You can drink and drive just once and you kill 3 kids.

See what I mean by that ?

how does that make it fate? because you dont get cause the first or second time? or you kill someone or yourself the first time? it called unforscene occurences and it can happen to everyone. the people who died in the accident it wasnt their fault wrong place, wrong time, they didnt know, that the chance everybody takes in life in general, the person that hit them made the decision to drive. dont just think because something happen to one person it cant happen to you. it not fate its life. why do good things happen to good people? correction it happens to bad people, babies, animals,forest, everything, nobody exempted from it you might think you are but you are fooling yourself.

All hedging aside, I believe that a person's choices dictate what happens in their life. However, "Fate" plays a role in a person's individual talents and predilections.
