Yeah, after seeing the bass case and all the instruments packed into the cars I was sweating.

I liked waking up early the first morning there, opening the curtains of my hotel room window, and looking outside to see a gentle layer of mist blanketing the scenery. An old, Japanese man was tending to a nearby garden. I didn't need pop music, sushi, or samurai swords... right at that moment, it hit me: I was in Japan.

The ladies who dressed my wife and me for our wedding were not only kind and attentive to us, but our elderly parents as well. They brought them chairs to sit on, drinks since it was hot. Japanese are known for great service, but these ladies went beyond anyone's expectations.
Even with the bad experiences most foreigners have in Japan, I choose to remember these good ones. The people are wonderful for the most part.

I am very bad at directions sometimes so I was often getting lost. A lot of really nice people would help me all the time. One time I was going on a train to my sisters house but the train wouldn't go through because of high wind. So I didn't really know what to do, but this nice old gentlemen managed to communicate with me. He offered to get his daughter to drive me but i was still slightly cautious. So he let me use his phone, and then he and his whole family waited with me at the train station until my sister got there So kind of them.

Another good experience. I left my bag on a train. I was staying at a temple on Koya-san so the monks tracked it down by calling stations and then they drove me down to the station and helped me pick it up. They were so nice

The new scenes that await first thing in the mornings in different countries has also been part of the attraction for me over the years

Do you plan on visiting, studies, etc.?

I''ve never been to Japan, they came here to New Zealand . Yes I will visit Japan in future and I hope I can find them. I have their names and where they were from but not much else as mum lost contact with them over the years.

Even if I just get to say thank you for being a big sister/big brothers to me that would be wonderful.

I've lost count how many japanese knew they were going to NZ for a working holiday.

I must get over to you one day as I heard that you have a stunning country.

I think we have a larger population of Kiwis than you do

But yes, definitely get to Japan one days if you get the funds as it really is a great experience, and Japanese people are just so giving
