U.S. says North Korea test results "inconclusive" | Reuters

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Initial U.S. testing to determine whether North Korea fired a nuclear device on Monday proved "inconclusive," said a U.S. official on Friday.

"The first test results came in inconclusive. They did not find anything that could confirm a nuclear device was detonated," said the U.S. official, who declined to be named.

If the North says they have.. and there is evidence to support it, then regardless of whether the evidence is conclusive or not the threat has to be taken seriously.

Not that serious. Since when was North Korea serious about anything?

Well let's call their bluff then shall we? *sarcasm*

Seriously what sort of question is that. When the head of state of a nation says something then there is really no other way to take it.

North Korea has been expressing their military "might" as a tool for Kim Jong Il's son #3 to be in power in the future.

Kim Jong Il and his military "conclave" endorses son #3 and what is the best way to guarantee this? Why of course, a very dubious nuclear weapon test and shooting several missiles to the sea.

Just read kirakira's post, Ronin. The answers is there and I'm not surprised you ignored it. North Korea is not crazy to start a war and you know better.

North Korea doesn't gain anything from bombing cities, as soon as it does that, its fate is sealed, which is not the aim.
Anyway, I should suggest to myself to not take you and your words seriously according to other members who know you for a long time.

Is it dubious? Inconclusive doesn't mean dubious.

Unless you think North Korea actually put a kiloton worth of explosives in the ground... or you think they have some sort of Earthquake machine that caused the richter scale to jump...

Furthermore the "consolidation of power in order to transition leadership to his son" theory is but one of many.

It might be right... but all theories should be taken into consideration. Including the theory which sees North Korea continuing it's nuclear testing because it believes the West is gutless to do anything about it (I think that's true) and because the only way North Korea can establish itself in the long term is via obtaining nukes.

I read it and I don't disagree with it... but unlike kira... I don't find this acceptable.

You're listening to a bunch of butthurt people who I've consistently challenged. If you want to take their word for it then fine.

I read what kira had to say about me... (for the record I can speak Japanese... albeit only at an intermediate level as my JPLT level says.. and while I may not be an expert on the region... my opinions have not been addressed. Sinestra is quite right in pointing out that you failed to read what I was getting at. Appeasement is not an acceptable long term solution to me. THAT is why I would support military action IF it were decided to be taken. Since it seems evidently clear that this option will not be taken... let's move on shall we?)

Or actually a false flag project primarily to motivate their own citizens. Ever since I knew about North Korea's nuke project, I totally doubt that North Korea could manage the nuclear waste from the last two tests. Its nuclear research program is very imperfect and has an unstable management from many pressures outside of North Korea and needed to eye on China and Russia.

Not a theory. KCNA already reported this loud and clear.

A rather disorganized nuclear program and missile R&D.

Thank you. From now on, I wouldn't even bother reading your posts. Like I said before in that past thread: "We just have different values and opinions that we can't even communicate."

Like you said before in PM: You want to say something then say it in the thread... I'm not replying to this.

Goodbye

How kind of you to be rude to someone~

I didn't know you few months ago. And I'm quite a new member here. I vaguely understood you not too long ago.
