And why can't you reply in Japanese as I asked?

Lying about your nationality is not acceptable, so I will allow you to revise your introduction and explain why your Japanese is full of so many errors.

MMM,

I do not believe it is the correct course of action to air this out in the open. As a moderator you should know this is something that should be handled through PMs. To do so without getting his position will only sow misunderstanding and distrust within the forum.

Personally I have little doubt about HaipaKun's nationality. I confess to know next to nothing about the Japanese language. However I was introduced to him over a year ago, and I firmly believe what he says. Although they are no longer hosted, I've seen a few videos, of himself practicing his English, that he once uploaded to YouTube.

In the end it is upto you and the other moderators of this forum, to arrive at a desicion on this matter. However now that this has been introduced in the public, the resolution should be as well. If it is determened that he presented to truth, then a public retraction should be given to remove any lingering doubts that anyone may harbor.

All I wish is that you read Japanese. If you did, it wouldn't take you two seconds to tell that Japanese isn't his first language.

Him practicing English? lol His English is already 80 times better than his Japanese. Don't kid yourself. We wouldn't challenge him in public unless we weren't 100% sure.

As a lower teenager living in Kyoto, he sure keeps posting in the middle of the night, too.

I understand your feelings, Odin, and if I wasn't sure that these were not the words of a Japanese native, I wouldn't have posted anything.

Having seen a couple members over the last year or so try and pass themselves off as something they weren't (one went so far as to post pictures he or she found online) much to the shock of the members who thought they had made a new friend online, I feel it is my duty to do what I can to expose potential fraud the moment I see it.

In short, people come here looking for Japanese friends. How big a disappointment would it be to find your new friend is not Japanese at all, or that your new tutor is not a native speaker?

If I am wrong I will be the first to apologize and retract my statements, but even a four-year-old knows not to use ある when talking about his relatives, much less any living thing.

私はアメリカに住んでいる親戚があります
I have relatives who live in America.

Of course a machine translator wouldn't make that distinction.

A three-year-old would make the distinction between the Japanese language and Japanese citizenship, and would never call themselves 日本語, but this 14-year-old states:

私は日本語が、
I am Japanese,

Naturally a machine translator wouldn't know which "Japanese" was intended.

In fact not just any machine translator, but iGoogle translator was used for the machine translation of every phrase this "Japanese" person presented.

Go ahead and copy-paste any English sentence from the OP into this site and see the results for yourself:

iGoogle
