I have removed the giant offtopic gender discussion, and I will leave you with a reply to the original concern. The awards are seperated by gender to allow females and males to be credited equally, and more people to be credited. This happens in many official awards around the world, such as Best Female/Male Artist, Best Actor/Actress etc. The awards are supposed to be a mock version of those. If one such person is not considered either gender, they will still win the award if they get the same amount of votes as the male or female which has won that category. So it does not exclude anyone, and everyone is eligible regardless of gender.
